Despite the rain and the cold, work continues on the plaza and rooftop expansion at Stateside Live! as the venue prepares for its May 29-31 grand opening weekend.
Ahead of the celebration, Comcast-Spectacor and The Cordish Companies invited media to the Stadium District for a hard-hat tour of the ongoing work on site.
Formerly Xfinity Live!, the venue was rebranded as Stateside Live! in 2025 and has been hard at work in recent months. More than $20 million in private funding has been invested in this expansion, and the early results were visible during Wednesday’s tour.
Among the many additions to the venue is an expansion of PBR Philly, which now includes a backyard, featuring an outdoor stage, dance floor, VIP sections and immersive “country entertainment programming.”
Above the space is a deck that connects to the new “AVA Rooftop Bar,” a two-story, open-air social space offering views of Xfinity Mobile Arena. That section also overlooks the venue’s new outdoor “Coors Light Stage.” The stage will host Taking Back Sunday and Mayday Parade during the venue’s free grand opening concert, the first in a summer and fall series.
The location is also adding two outdoor spaces serving seasonal beers and hand-squeezed cocktails, including the Blue Moon Beer Garden and the Stateside Crush Bar, making the venue an even more versatile experience, both inside and out.
The newly revamped outdoor space spans more than 48,000 square feet and will host concerts, festivals, game-day events, and private gatherings that can comfortably host up to 5,000 fans, up to 9,000 inside and out.
“As we look ahead to the future of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the newly transformed Stateside Live! represents an important anchor for what’s next,” Comcast Spectacor Chairman and CEO Dan Hilerty said in a statement. “Coming on the heels of a transformational renovation project at Xfinity Mobile Arena, this incredible sports and entertainment destination offers an exciting glimpse into the growth, innovation and experiences we’re building for fans and the community.”
With Philadelphia set to host major events like the FIFA World Cup, MLB All-Star Game, and a number of Semiquincentennial celebrations for America 250, Stateside Live! aims to serve as a premier indoor-outdoor destination in the Sports Complex.
