Think you have what it takes to become the next Survivor castaway?
Rivers Casino Philadelphia is giving aspiring contestants their shot with an in-person casting call for CBS’ long-running reality competition series —the first in the area for quite some time.
Set for Thursday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the venue’s Event Center in Fishtown, the casting call will feature a special appearance by 'Survivor' veteran Cirie Fields, who most recently competed on Season 50 of the show. Fields has played 'Survivor' five times and has become one of the franchise’s most recognizable players, but her reality-TV résumé also includes 'Big Brother', 'Australian Survivor: Australia v. The World' and 'The Traitors'. Before casting begins, Fields will participate in a moderated Q&A, followed by two meet-and-greet sessions at Sapore, Rivers’ Italian restaurant.
For anyone trying out, the big moment is a one-minute, on-camera pitch explaining why you belong on the show. As casting notes, producers are seeking “outgoing, adventurous and adaptable applicants who can demonstrate physical and mental savvy, along with distinctive personalities, backgrounds and life experiences.” Auditioners should be prepared to share their name, age, occupation and relationship status, as well as their personal backstory, fun facts, connection to 'Survivor,' favorite challenge, dream prize and what they believe makes them an ideal castaway.
The day will also feature 'Survivor' trivia and giveaways. Auditions begin at 10 a.m., though hopefuls can start lining up at 8 a.m.; anyone in line by 2 p.m. will have the opportunity to audition for a chance to compete for the show's $1 million prize.
Those planning to audition should review the eligibility requirements on CBS Philadelphia, print and complete the required waiver and release form, and bring a valid ID. Participants must be at least 18 to audition. Casting producers will review the videos recorded during the event and contact applicants selected for further consideration.
Free parking is available at Rivers Casino. A free shuttle will also run throughout the day between the casino’s main entrance and Riversuites at The Battery, the property’s boutique hotel across Penn Treaty Park.
This event is par for the course for Rivers—this is the casino’s fifth recent casting call for a national network television show. 'The Price Is Right', 'Shark Tank' and 'Wheel of Fortune' have also held casting events at the casino in recent months.
"Bringing a ‘Survivor’ casting call to Philadelphia is exactly the kind of unique experience we love offering our guests," says Scott Lokke, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia, in a statement. "This is another fun and exclusive opportunity for fans to take their shot at joining one of the most iconic reality shows on television."
