Travis Konecny reached a major milestone Tuesday night, recording his 500th NHL career point in the Flyers’ 4‑1 win over the San Jose Sharks. The landmark point came on a secondary assist, and Konecny later added an empty-net goal to seal the victory.
Konecny was drafted 24th overall in 2015 and has spent his entire career with the Flyers. Over the years, he’s proven himself as a consistent offensive force, highlighted by his breakout 2019‑2020 season when he put up 61 points before the pandemic interrupted play. Since then, he’s continued to develop into one of Philly’s go-to scorers and playmakers.
Against the Sharks, Konecny played in his 673rd NHL game and his 10th season, with his goal making him just the 17th player in Flyers history to reach 500 career points — joining an elite list that includes Bobby Clarke, Claude Giroux, Bill Barber, Brian Propp, Rick MacLeish, Eric Lindros, Tim Kerr, John LeClair, Mark Recchi, and Jakub Voráček. It’s a monumental milestone for him and the franchise.
With milestones like this, Konecny is proving once again why he’s such an important part of the Flyers. Tuesday was another reminder of his skill, consistency, and the role he’s played in the team’s success over the years.
