Tyrese Maxey (right finger tendon strain) is questionable to make his long-awaited return on Saturday as the Sixers head to Charlotte to face the Hornets, the team's Friday evening injury report revealed.
Maxey was set to be re-evaluated in "approximately three weeks," according to an update from the team on March 10, but appears to be ahead of schedule as the Sixers prepare for the two most important games left on their remaining schedule.
Also notable, Joel Embiid was not listed on the report, signaling that there were no significant complications after he returned from a right oblique injury that caused him to miss 13 games. In his return Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls, Embiid was nothing short of dominant, scoring 35 points in just three quarters of action.
Embiid admitted that he's still dealing with pain from the injury, but is pushing through as the Sixers make one final attempt to solidify their spot in the Eastern Conference ahead of the playoffs.
Kelly Oubre Jr., who spoke after the team's Friday morning practice, said he will play Saturday, but remains questionable, according to the most recent injury report. Oubre has missed just over two weeks due to an LCL sprain in his left elbow and has been limited to just 41-games this season, but has played the most efficient basketball of his Sixers career when available.
