Despite missing nearly half their starting lineup because of players on international duty, Milan Iloski’s second hat trick of the MLS season led Philadelphia Union to a 4-2 victory over Orlando City SC at Subaru Park Saturday night.
The victory over Orlando at home extends Union’s unbeaten streak to 12 consecutive games coming out of the World Cup break under Interim Head Coach Ryan Richter, and marks the Union’s 6th consecutive win in MLS play - both club records.
Union got on the board in the 11th minute after Orlando City’s Eduard Atuesta was caught pulling Milan Iloski inside the penalty area. Iloski stepped up and sent Orlando keeper Maxime Crépeau the wrong way, giving Union an early 1-0 lead at home with his 14th goal of the 2026 MLS season.
Less than 10 minutes later, Milan Iloski doubled Union’s lead in the 19th minute with his second tally of the night. Indiana Vassilev collected the ball along the left sideline and moved forward into the attacking zone before sending Iloski behind the defense with a leading pass.
Iloski ran onto the pass, entered the box with the ball at his feet, and sent a right-footed shot past Crépeau and into the back of the net to extend Union’s lead with his 15th goal of the year.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Indiana Vassilev found himself in the box with the ball at his feet and a chance to ice the game. Vassilev collected the pass from Jesús Bueno, fired a left-footed shot toward goal, and watched it deflect into the back of the net to give Ryan Richter’s side a demanding 3-0 lead on the other side of the halftime break.
Vassilev's goal was his fourth of the 2026 MLS season, and Jesús Bueno’s third assist of the year.
Only a few minutes later, Milan Iloski extended Union’s lead to four with a right-footed beauty from outside the penalty area to complete his hat trick, his second three-goal game of the MLS season and his 16th goal of the campaign.
Orlando City found two late goals to make the scoreline a little more interesting, but the Philadelphia Union ultimately got the job done at home despite missing a handful of key players due to international duty.
The win moves Union’s record to 11 wins, six draws and 10 losses this season for a total of 39 points, enough to end the weekend in 6th place in the Eastern Conference with a top-4 finish within grasp.
The Union will look to extend their unbeaten streak under Ryan Richter to 13 consecutive games two Saturdays from now when Real Salt Lake visits Chester to face the hottest team in Major League Soccer.
