A Philadelphia police officer found unconscious Tuesday morning in a Center City courthouse died after suffering a "massive heart attack," police said.The officer, identified as 41-year-old Douglas Bamberger, was found collapsed on the ninth floor of the Criminal Justice Center around 7:40 a.m. He was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:42 a.m.He was a 16-year veteran of the force with two children.“Commissioner Richard Ross extends his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and law enforcement family of Officer Bamberger," the police department said in a statement.Another worker in thecourthouse called 911 after discovering the officer unconscious. Members of the Sheriff's Department attempted CPR until medical personnel arrived, to no avail.
