A woman died after she was apparently struck by a vehicle that fled the scene early Wednesday morning in Kensington, authorities said.
Police said that a woman, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, was found unresponsive on the street just after 2:15 a.m. on the 1800 block of East Allegheny Avenue, which is between Kensington Avenue and Jasper Street.
Medics took the victim, who was suffering from head trauma, to Temple University Hospital, where she died at around 4:20 a.m., according to investigators.
