Suspect in Center City triple shooting turns himself in

A man wanted in connection with a triple shooting that happened last month in Center City turned himself in on Monday, police said.

Tahjir Williams, 24, will be charged with three counts of aggravated assault and other crimes for his alleged role in the incident, which took place June 2, on 11th Street, just south of Market Street, according to authorities.

An arrest warrant had been issued for Williams, and he showed up Monday at PPD headquarters, investigators said. His legal counsel could not be identified through court records Monday.

On Sunday, June 2, at around 11:30 p.m., officers found three people at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities said at the time. A 42-year-old woman who had been shot in her pelvis and arm suffered the most serious injuries, according to police.

Investigators said a 53-year-old woman was struck in her leg and a 22-year-old man was hit in his right arm. They were both listed in stable condition following the shooting.
