Suspect in custody after 3 injured from stabbings and shooting in North

A man is in police custody after three people were injured in a double stabbing and a shooting Wednesday night in North Philadelphia, reports said.

On Wednesday night around 8:20 p.m. at 18th Street and Girard Avenue, a24-year-old woman was stabbed in the head, a 24-year-old man was stabbed in the back and a 47-year-old woman was shot in the leg and grazed by another bullet,Philly.comreported.

A 5-year-old, a 3-year-old and an infant were reportedly with the two 24-year-old victims at the time of the attack, 6ABC reported.

According to Philly.com, all three victims were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and are in stable condition.

Police told 6ABC a suspect was seen fleeing the scene near 18th and Master.

“The officers went in foot pursuit of this male. The male tried to hide behind some cars. Police caught up to him. He quickly took off his jacket, and threw it onto the ground,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told 6ABC. “When police apprehended him, they picked up the jacket. They found a handgun in that jacket.”

Police have not revealed the identity of the victims, the suspect or the motive for the attacks, 6ABC reported.
