Police were called to a spa in Philadelphia’s Spring Garden section on a report that an armed man had taken hostages there early this morning.

A Philadelphia Police Department spokeswoman says a man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident at 1022 Buttonwood St.

A SWAT team stormed Spring Garden Spa after police received the report of the hostage situation at 12:58 a.m., but the suspect reportedly fled on foot. He apparently was taken into custody later in the morning.
