Suspect in King of Prussia kidnapping identified as daughter of top state GOP official

The woman who allegedly kidnapped a newborn from the King of Prussia Mall on Thursday has been charged and identified as the daughter of the deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, 6ABC reported.

Cherie Amoore, daughter of Renee Amoore, faces several charges, including kidnapping of a minor, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, interference with the custody of a child and concealment of the whereabouts of a child.

NBC10reported that Amoore befriended the boy’s family at the mall Thursday and asked to hold him, eventually walking away with him while his family was distracted.

The child had been missing for five hours before he was found by police.

Investigators told NBC10 that Amoore allegedly showed off the baby boy to different family members and friends in several locations before being caught with the child in a home on Upper Gulph Road in Tredyffrin Township.

“We were able to go to a number of locations tonight in both Upper Merion Township, Malvern and eventually into Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, where we did locate the woman, who was seen on video leaving with the baby,” Upper Merion Township Police Chief Tom Nolan told6ABC. “The baby is safe and sound but is getting checked.”
