Teen killed at West Oak Lane water ice stand

A 19-year-old man was shot and killed outside of Rita’s Italian Ice on Tuesday evening.

A 19-year-old man was gunned down in front of Rita’s Italian Ice stand at Stenton and 69th avenues in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane section Tuesday night.

The shooting occurred just before 9:30 p.m. The teenager was shot in the chest, according to police.

Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Master Street resident Markquine Pickett. Pickettwas taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m.

Police reportedly were looking for a silver Chevrolet Impala in which the suspect, or suspects, reportedly fled. The car was last seen heading east on Haines Street.

Investigators were reviewing surveillance videos in the area in an attempt to identify the suspect, or suspects.
