A man fatally shot a teenager during an argument and then jumped off a fourth-floor balcony Tuesday night in Roxborough, police said.
The shooting, which stemmed from an argument, occurred just before 10:15 p.m. inside an apartment building on the 7900 block of Henry Avenue, according to authorities.
Investigators said the 18-year-old victim, along with another man and two women, showed up to confront the alleged shooter, a 23-year-old man. He fired a single shot, striking the teen in the chest, the PPD said.
Authorities said the victim was taken to Roxborough Memorial Hospital, where he died early Wednesday morning. Police have not publicly identified him.
The gunman was not injured in the fall and remained at the scene, according to police. Investigators said he was being questioned by homicide detectives Wednesday, with charges pending further investigation.
Through Tuesday, 100 people had been killed in homicides this year in Philadelphia, down 37% from the same date in 2023, according to police data.
