A teenage boy was about to board his school bus Monday morning in Wilmington, Delaware, when a man approached him from behind and opened fire, according to reports.
The boy, 15, was struck three times, and later taken to the A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, 6ABC reported. His condition was not known. The shooting happened just after 7 a.m. at 27th and North Van Buren streets.
As of Monday, there were 20 fatal shootings in Wilmington this year, and 120 shootings overall. That compares to 23 deadly shootings and 119 incidents the year before, according to Delaware Online state data.
