A 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting late Monday night in North Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Police responded to a call of a person with a gun on the 1800 block of West Sedgley Ave., authorities said. The boy had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, arms, and legs.
A PFD Medic Unit rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday morning.
The scene was secured, no weapons were found, and no arrests were made at this time, police said. T there were nearly a dozen 9mm casings found at the scene.

Through Sept. 8, 99 teenagers and children under the age of 18 have been shot in 2024 in Philadelphia, including 14 who were killed, according to the City Commissioner’s gun violence dashboard. That number has now reached triple digits with this latest incident.
As of the same date last year, 20 juveniles had died in shootings, and there were 134 nonfatal victims. Both numbers were even higher in 2022, according to the data.
154 teenagers and children under the age of 18 were shot in that same time.
