2 teens wounded in North Philadelphia quadruple shooting

Four people were injured, including two teenagers, when gunmen opened fire Monday night on a North Philadelphia street, police said.

The shooting happened just before 10:45 p.m. on the 200 block of W. Westmoreland Street, according to authorities.

Investigators said a 14-year-old boy was struck in his left ankle, and a 15-year-old boy suffered a wound to his left leg. Two men – ages 33 and 38 – were also struck in the leg, police said.

All of the victims were taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition and are expected to survive, according to the PPD.

No arrests were reported in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. Police described the suspects as two men wearing black clothing and riding a moped.

The incident was the fourth shooting with three or more victims in Philadelphia since Saturday. Three people were wounded Sunday night in Center City, and a pair of shootings Saturday night in West and Southwest Philadelphia left 2 people dead and five others hospitalized.

Through June 2, a total of 418 people had been shot in the city this year, down nearly 45% from the same date in 2023, according to police department statistics.
