Intellectually curious seniors have no shortage of options in Philly thanks to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Temple University.
“It’s like a university,” director Adam Brunner explains. Classes — in everything from theater to psychology — meet weekly for 12 or 14 weeks. “Most courses are designed so each session is self-contained, so people won’t get lost if they miss a class,”?he adds.
Classes meet weekdays at Temple’s Center City site at 15th and Market, convenient to mass transportation. The $240 annual fee (less for individual terms) also covers the cost of one regular undergraduate Temple course per semester, or three per year. (These would ordinarily cost $1,000 each.)
“OLLI is an amazing deal,” Brunner says with understandable pride, “and a great resource for people who like to use their minds and want to meet others like themselves.”
