Whether you’re looking to burn off some pre-feast calories, raise money for a great cause, or simply kick off the Thanksgiving holiday with a burst of energy, the Gobble Wobble 5K is the perfect way to start the day.
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA will host this year’s event at four locations — Abington, Haverford, Royersford and the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Taking place on Thanksgiving Day, the Gobble Wobble 5K kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Register now and join the celebration that brings families, friends, and neighbors together before the turkey hits the table.
Registration is now open. Race fees are $40 for individuals (13 and older); $37 for group participants (4-plus runners); and $25 for children (12 and under). Children 5 and under are free. Fees include chip timing, bibs and course refreshments. Same day registrations will be available with a slight fee increase (card or electronic payments only).
Proceeds from the Gobble Wobble 5K benefit the YMCA Financial Assistance program, which funds low-to no-cost memberships and programs for area residents.
“This event is more than a fun run. It raises critical funds that help the YMCA keep our communities active, healthy, and connected,” said Bill Seedes, Executive Director of the Willow Grove YMCA. “And there’s no better way to feel that connection than when we run together for a good cause. So bring the family, start a new holiday tradition, and build up that appetite.”
