They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but can you teach a cat any tricks? The Amazing Acro-cats are defying the odds and is made up of a troupe of rescued housecats that perform. They’ve been featured on Late Show with Stephen Colbert and the 2017 Puppy Bowl Broadcast on Animal Planet.
The human behind the feline phenomenon is animal trainer Samantha Martin. Aside from rescuing her own pets, she’s found homes for 200 cats and takes the Amazing Acro-cat show on the road across the country in the Acro-cat bus. See cats on skateboards, jumping through hoops and even rock out to Tuna and the Rock Cats, the only all-cat band in the world.
From Sept. 13 through Sept. 18, the whole gang will perform at Philadelphia’s Painted Bride Art Center and proceeds will benefit the Philadelphia Cats Community Council. This nonprofit network is dedicated to solving the stray and feral cat overpopulation crisis through spay/neuter, TNRM (trap-neuter-return-management), education and advocacy.
