The Business Corner: New podcast launches to discuss leadership and economic development

More than two years ago, I started writing The Business Corner column here at Metro to give insight into ways to build a business, develop a strategy, and maneuver through the Covid-19 pandemic.

With challenges, comes opportunity. We have discussed at The Business Corner a number of important topics that business owners care about, including 1) Obtaining insurance to handle government contracts; 2) How businesses can rebuild post Covid-19; 3) Credit, accelerators, and growth opportunities; 4) Strategies to improve your business model; 5) Supporting minority-owned businesses to celebrate Black History Month; and many more.

Now, we are entering the next phase of growth for The Business Corner, with the launch of our very own podcast. The Business Corner Podcast will explore many business and finance topics, but the key focus is on developing a strategy, setting goals, and critically: how to find success.

Many entrepreneurs lack the network they believe is needed to be successful. However, in my eight years building TML Communications into one of the leading public relations firms in the region, I have found that success is possible in nearly any position with the right combination of willingness to learn, hard work, tenacity, and dedication to never giving up.

Some people may believe success comes down to luck and connections. Personally, I have found that not to be the case. True success is based on setting goals, knowing where you want to go, and having some sense of what it takes to get there.

You can see The Business Corner podcast on our YouTube page, on the third Monday of each month. The first episode will be available on Monday, Aug. 21.

I truly hope you follow along and learn something that helps you on the path to success.
