The Eagles are one step closer to losing Andy Weidl

According to a tweet from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Eagles Exec Andy Weidl has completed a second-round interview for the vacant GM position.

The Eagles have already lost seven front office members this offseason, with Andy’s brother Casey being one of them.

If Andy doesn’t get the job with Pittsburgh, it’s fair to assume he might consider a career elsewhere since the Eagles just fired his brother. We don’t really know the reasoning behind the move, but it came

Weidl has been with the Eagles for the last six seasons, with the last three being in his current position. Originally Weidl started in Philadelphia as the assistant director of player personnel (2016-17), working under former Eagles vice president of player personnel and current New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas. When Douglas took the job with the Jets, Weidl was promoted to the main role. Weidl has 24 total years of NFL scouting experience. at such a strange time after the Eagles have received national praise for what appears to be a stellar draft class.

Losing Weidl to the Steelers would be a cruel blow, especially after an absolutely stellar draft and offseason. In fact, even last year’s was impressive. The good news is that the Birds are at least making some moves to combat the bleeding, but the wounds don’t look like they’re going to stop coming anytime soon.
