Sip the season: The Ground joins BOTLD for a summer pop-up

Locals can sip, bite and savor every flavor of summer through a new partnership with The Ground brand and BOTLD Midtown.

The Ground, a Parisian-inspired, plant-adorned coffee shop opened its first location in the city in 2024. Now with two stops (in Rittenhouse and Norris Square), the concept is setting up shop in BOTLD’s flagship location (at 117 South 13th St.) to bring out some seasonal treatswhich will only be available through Labor Day.

“Great spirits and great coffee both reflect a love of craft,” says BOTLD founder Andrew Auwerda. “As neighbors in Rittenhouse, we’ve long admired what The Ground has built. This partnership energizes our mornings, offers something fresh for Midtown Village, and opens the door for future collaboration.”

“We’re thrilled to bring The Ground’s daytime magic to BOTLD’s welcoming space on 13th Street,” added The Ground co-founder Michelle Miller. “This pop-up is more than just coffee. It’s a celebration of collaboration, community and the joy of slowing down with something beautiful in hand.”

What locals will find is that The Ground owners, Molly Kiriacoulacos and Michelle Miller, have transformed the bar into a botanical-inspired cafe oasis. Each morning offers a menu of  unique beverages and classic French pastries for dine-in and take-out. Think all iced drinks, matcha and espresso lattes (featuring homemade syrups like rose pistachio and cinnamon toast crunch), cold brew topped with foams (including orange creamsicle, strawberry, and chocolate) and bites like almond croissants, vanilla beignets, and coffee cake. 

Plus, both venues have co-created a series of limited-edition cocktails using BOTLD’s craft spirits. The spirited picks span the Rose-Hey (Pa’lante Botanical Rum, pistachio and rose syrups, lemon and orange bitters), the Yuz Too Matcha (St. George Gin, Fast Penny Americano Bianca, matcha, and yuzu) and the Caffeine Rush (on tap, made with J. Rieger Vodka and Caffe Amaro, cold brew and an optional creamsicle cold foam topper.)

Guests can sip and hang while seated at BOTLD Midtown’s cozy booths, bar or café tables while also exploring a retail lineup of nearly 100 rare and independent craft spirits from around the world, a release notes.  The Ground Rittenhouse, The Ground Coffee, Plants and Gifts (Norris Square) and BOTLD Midtown will continue to operate during their regular hours during this pop-up.
