The Philly Home, and Home + Garden Show is coming to the city this month and next

There’s truly no place like home, and for two consecutive weekends, (Jan. 10-12 and 17-19) residents will get to dive headfirst into all things DIY, decorations and more at the 39th Annual Philly Home Show. Then, in February (14-16), homemakers and those with a green thumb will also get to indulge in the 5th Annual Philly Home + Garden Show.

The Philly Home, and Home + Garden Show is coming to the city this month and next

According to a release, both shows are produced by Marketplace Events, producer of the nation’s largest home shows and some of the most successful and longest-running shows in North America.

“The Philly Home Show provides ideas and solutions geared towards city dwellers, who often have space challenges, while the Philly Home + Garden Show provides home and garden options sought by suburban residents,” said Jenna Naffin, Show Manager for both in a release. “We work throughout the year in order to find and present the features, exhibitors and experts that each show’s visitors will find most useful.”

So what can you expect at the extravaganza taking place this weekend and next? According to the release, January’s Philly Home Show will showcase local designers offering inspiration for decorating with “Philly Style” and creating cozy “Petite Retreats,” along with the “Ultimate Backyard” and special shops for plant lovers, pets and more.

Langhorne native Jeff Devlin, who is known best for his contracting and woodworking skills on DIY Network’s “Stone House Revival,” will be offering a unique VIP workshop as part of the PHS’ popular Make-It, Take-It series. The series offers hands-on experiences with experts, helping Philadelphians gain experience, knowledge and confidence in the highlighted areas.

The Philly Home Show will also feature 250 exhibitors covering all home-centered basics, a plant bar featuring green masterpieces, and even “petite retreats” where show-goers can unwind and gain inspiration. Be sure to also check out the Herr’s Family Lounge if you need a break in between all of the perusing opportunities the PHS offers.

Then, in February, head back to the Pennsylvania Convention Center to check out more home/garden renovation experiences and tips from a few notable celebrities and all-star vendors including Greg Brady from TV’s “The Brady Bunch” and HGTV’s “A Very Brady Renovation,” and Eric and Lindsay Bennett, renovators and stars of HGTV’s “Desert Flippers.” The Philly Home + Garden show will also feature more than 7,5000 square feet of garden displays, the popular Make-It, Take-It workshops, new floral workshops, wine tastings, and several unique markets.

According to the release, new this year at both the Philly Home Show and the Philly Home + Garden Show is an emphasis on the building trades, through a partnership with Mike Rowe and his mikeroweWORKS Foundation. To spotlight the skilled labor shortage and support the home improvement industry, “Trade Day” on January 12 at the Philly Home Show and February 16 at the Philly Home + Garden Show will offer free admission for all home building and renovation tradespeople (with ID). Exhibitors will post available jobs, and experts from Lowe’s will provide vocational information.
