Over the bridge in New Jersey and in surrounding Pennsylvania areas, there are three opportunities to try out a new refreshed menu from the popular craft beer bar and culinary destination, The Pour House.
The brand has three locations: Two in North Wales and Exton, Pennsylvania, and a third in Westmont, New Jersey. The Pour House is known as being a laid-back destination, but with elevated food and drink options spanning an oyster bar, a selection of cocktails, desserts, and now, some new additions to their entrees, appetizers, and unique shot selections.
“At The Pour House, our goal has always been to provide our guests with a great dining experience, and our new menu definitely reflects that commitment,” said Rich Friedrich, Culinary Director at PJW in a statement. “We spent many long nights ideating and perfecting each dish to ensure that it not only tastes incredible but also showcases the best quality ingredients and culinary techniques that define The Pour House’s identity.”
The new Smash Burger section, for starters, boasts griddled 100% Certified Angus Beef patties and burgers featuring a custom La Frieda blend dry-aged for “maximum flavor.” The Bang Bang Smash features peppered bacon, habañero jack ghost pepper cheese, tomato, shredded lettuce, and bang bang sauce served on a butter-toasted jalapeño cheddar bun ($15.99). Another new addition to the section, the Dry-Aged Bacon Burrata Bomb, features burrata, pepper bacon, arugula, wild mushrooms and balsamic aioli served on a butter toasted brioche bun ($18.99).
The Pour House has also opted to add in new highlights to their entrees portion as well—one fresh dish being the flat iron steak (8 ounces of thinly sliced flat iron steak topped with whisky black peppercorn sauce and served with herb roasted potatoes and fresh crisp broccoli for $22.99). The cinnamon and chipotle-crusted grilled salmon drizzled with a honey lemon vinaigrette (served with wild rice risotto and herb butter vegetables for $22.99) has also been added to the menu, and so has a new chicken tenders pick ($13.99.)
Part of the appeal of The Pour House brand comes from the raw bar, or more so, the annual Buck-A-Shuck every Wednesday, and to add to the experience, the refreshed menu has also added in a wider selection of slurps.
Guests can now enjoy broiled oysters roasted with garlic butter, parmesan cheese and pickled shishito peppers ($15.99), baked oysters with bacon, kale, onion, parmesan, toasted breadcrumbs and chives ($15.99), and a fun selection of Oyster Shooters including the “Hoppy Harbor” boasting pale ale and cocktail sauce ($4) the “Gin’gnonette” with Tanqueray gin and house mignonette, and the “Hot & Bothered” offering Espolòn Blanco and fresh jalapeños ($7 each), the release notes.
Other highlights on the newer side of The Pour House offerings (note, when you stop in look for the “featured” title for fresh items) span crispy calamari, crispy Asian potstickers, loaded she crab fries, a selection of salads (think chimichurri steak, burrata kale and a wild grain bowl), a southwest brisket flatbread, southern fried chicken wrap, bacon jam grilled cheese, brisket mac and cheese and more.
And to end things out on a sweet note, on top of the venues’ skillet cookie, new desserts also include a peanut butter s’mores jar with warm chocolate cake, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, graham cracker crumbs, and marshmallow ($7.99) and warm caramel bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and caramel sauce.
The Pour House brand has always been a haven for beer lovers (though their cocktails are also a treat), and with the new menu, the trio of venues are opting to also put an emphasis on flavor. If you’re going to grab a beer and sit at the bar, why not add a fresh app into the mix? Or maybe you’re an oyster lover looking to indulge in something a bit more spirited? Or just headed out for the night in the mood for a wide selection of bites? The brand is built on an atmosphere of comfort, but the food is meant to raise the stakes.
