March 27 is International Whiskey Day, and The Twisted Tail is celebrating in style.

With one of the largest brown spirits collections in the city, the Headhouse Square restaurant and bar will showcase its diverse portfolio with a feature whiskey flight dubbed Around the World.

The international whiskey flight features three one ounce pours of Scotch, Japanese, and American whiskey for a total of $19. The flight includes The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old Scotch, a single malt double-aged in traditional whisky and Oloroso casks; Suntory Toki Blended Japanese Whisky, unique in its 50-50 split of grain and malt whiskies to highlight both components; and Jefferson’s Very Small Batch Blended Bourbon, a blend of Jefferson’s bourbon with three additional hand-selected straight bourbons of varying mash bills and ages for a delicate finish.

The Twisted Tail, owned by brown spirits connoisseur George Reilly, features an extensive array of bourbons and whiskeys (over 120 bottles) with rotating cocktails, whiskey flights and an impressive owner’s collection of limited annual releases and one-off expressions, including covetable selections like Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Revival and Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon.

For the most dedicated brown spirits fans, The Twisted Tail offers a members-only Bourbon Club for discount drams and more.

The beverage menus are accompanied by Southern comfort dishes such as fried chicken and shrimp and grits, and acoustic blues six nights a week. The Twisted Tail’s second-floor serves as a Juke Joint and Clubroom, with live music, open mics and blues jams.
