The Wardrobe is offering free clothing to veterans in need

The Wardrobe is working to eliminate clothing insecurity for all Philadelphians, and this month, they are focusing their efforts on helping veterans in need.

Whether it is everyday clothing, professional attire for an interview, or work clothes for a new job, The Wardrobe will offer free clothing — as well as educational programming and resources — to veterans on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at five  Philadelphia-area locations.

The Wardrobe supports approximately 10,000 people annually with the clothing and tools needed to move forward toward independence and stability. They also offer education programs, one-on-one coaching and workshops to help people succeed professionally.

For those who cannot visit in person, The Wardrobe also offers the Wardrobe Box both as a seasonal subscription box (similar to Stitch Fix) for shoppers or personally styled for free for participants. Subscription boxes contain four pre-loved and fashionable pieces chosen just for you by expert stylists and arrive on your doorstep quarterly. For every Wardrobe Box sold, The Wardrobe will send a free clothing box to someone in need.

Veterans can receive free clothing on Aug. 29 at the following Wardrobe locations: 413 N. 4th St. (Philadelphia); 62 W. Marshall Rd. (Upper Darby); Keystone First Wellness Center, 1929 West 9th St. (Chester); 345 Scarlett Road (Kennett Square); and at the Exton Square Mall (2nd floor near Boscov’s).
