Police are looking for a man who allegedly stole an elderly woman’s purse containing $2,700 at a CVS in Center City.
The incident happened on July 13. The victim, who is 75 years old, had just left the bank where she had withdrawn $2,700 from her savings account. While she was inside the CVS at 1826 Chestnut Street, the suspect began following her in the store. When the woman stepped away from her cart to look at an item, the suspect pulled the cart with him, snatched the woman’s purse containing the money and her identification and took off.
The suspect is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years of age, approximately 230 pounds, 5 foot 7 inches, bald with stubble on his face. He was last seen wearing a red tee shirt with YMCA on the front and the number 5 on back in white lettering, tan shorts, white socks and white sneakers.
