Unlike for any other sports star, people will show up and stand in 90-degree weather just to watch Tiger Woods play a practice round.
Hundreds showed up at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square to do just that yesterday, following the world’s biggest celebrity-athlete walk the well-known Delaware County course as Woods prepared for the first professional tournament he’s ever played in the Philadelphia region.
Despite the presence of about 100 of the best professional golfers who also practiced yesterday for the AT&T National that starts tomorrow and will be played through Sunday, Woods commanded the crowds as they traveled with him hole by hole on a a course that hasn’t featured a professional tournament in a decade.
