We’ve already hit Week 4 of the NFL season and the games are coming thick and fast. ESPN is hosting a double-header on Monday night for the second week in a row, featuring games between the Titans and Dolphins, and Seahawks and Lions.
Here’s all you need to know about these clashes from a betting perspective.
Spread: Tennessee Titans +2.5 | Miami Dolphins -2.5
Moneyline: Tennessee Titans +114 | Miami Dolphins -135
Total: Over/Under 37
Spread: Seattle Seahawks +4.5 | Detroit Lions -4.5
Moneyline: Seattle Seahawks +154 | Detroit Lions -185
Total: Over/Under 46.5
The Seahawks and Lions contest is going to likely provide the most exciting viewing. Seattle is off to the races at 3-0 while Detroit avenged their Week 2 loss to the Bucs with a win over Arizona. Geno Smith has done a great job of breathing new life into the Seahawks’ offense, while the Lions remain a perennial NFC contender.
On the other channel, the Tua-less Dolphins will look to eek out a win over the Titans. Tim Boyle will be hoping to salvage something against a team still looking for its first victory. The Titans could well sniff blood in the water after the offense was reduced to rubble last time out, but they still have enough playmakers on both sides of the ball to securely win this matchup in spite of quarterback woes.
In terms of a parlay combining the two games, it might be wise to look into individual props. Will Levis is +215 to throw for more than 225 yards against a Dolphins defense that still sits around the top-10 against the pass. If we can bank on a few Tyler Huntley blunders, then this might be a game where Levis finally has the confidence to sling it reliably.
Another prop worth exploring is Jared Goff’s passing yards. He’s priced at +110 to throw for 250+ against the top-ranked Seattle pass defense, but the Seahawks are yet to face a really dangerous offense. A wounded Dolphins team, and the combo of Bo Nix and Will Levis hardly presented lethal challenges to this group, and the Lions offense is a very different beast. I think Jared Goff, who threw for over 300 yards against the Bucs, is in a good spot to shock this defense into submission.
Following up on the Jared Goff analysis, I think the Lions at -4.5 present some great value. In terms of a roster, they’re the much better team and as aforementioned, the Seahawks are yet to be tested. Detroit has a chance to assert their authority over one of the best teams in the NFL in terms of record and could run away with this one if the offense begins to click.
