Mom-Mom’s has been a signature stop for those looking for homemade/handmade Polish food since coming onto the scene in 2013. You can’t go wrong with their kielbasa or golabki, but Mom-Mom’s pierogi options are the reason for the season.

Offering five variations, Mom-Mom’s has plenty of options to choose from, including their classic potato, farmer’s cheese, vegan potato pierogi, kaputsa, which includes caramelized onions, rye bread crumbs, mustard sour cream, and cheesesteak pierogi, which features cooper sharp, caramelized onions, and black pepper ketchup.

East Kensington’s Little Walter’s celebrates National Pierogi Day with a special eight-course dinner featuring a blend of timeless favorites and innovative flair.

For $100 per person, guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, including Little Walter’s Onion Soup Pierogi (bone broth, smoked gouda, and an herb salad), Duck Carnitas (duck kiełbasa, smoked squash, and mole), Birchrun Bleu Cheese Pierogi (fig and chicories), their signature Pierogi Ruskie Sourdough (with potato and caramelized onion, creamy farmers cheese) and more.

Little Walter’s Pierogi Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made via Resy.

Czerw’s Polish Kielbasa

Of course, Philadelphia’s king of kielbasa makes the list. While their namesake may not be the topic of today’s list, the Port Richmond staple proudly serves some of the top handmade pierogies in the city.
