Turkey Day Tailgate brings food, football and charity together again in 2023

In just a few weeks, the annual football-fueled charitable incentive from Philly PR Girl will be in full swing. The Turkey Day Tailgate happens every year, and in 2023, the activation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5, in the Linc parking lot from noon to 4 p.m.

The event always features food, drinks, games, and of course, ways to show your support for the Birds, but the charity part comes in with proceeds going to help local nonprofit Dimplez 4 Dayz—which was founded in 2016 by 13-year-old Akayla Brown. The youth-led nonprofit is dedicated to empowering the youth voice and reducing youth violence in Philadelphia by “promoting the resources and programs that can enable young people to build confidence and fulfill their potential.”

And in November 2021, the organization opened its first youth-founded youth-led community center in West Philadelphia.

For this year’s Turkey Day Tailgate, The O’Hara Home Team Compass RE is returning for its eighth year as a presenting sponsor, as is Tito’s Vodka with another year of partnership. Tito’s will once again be on-site with seasonal cocktails being served up by their specialty POD bar and bartenders throughout the event.

Thanksgiving is also coming a bit early at the Turkey Day Tailgate, as the fundraising effort will  be providing holiday food for everyone, with PrimoHoagies serving up their signature “Primo Pilgrim” sandwiches accompanied by Thanksgiving sides from Kay Kay’s Bakery. Other food options for the day will come from Conshohocken Italian Bakery in the form of tomato pies and pulled pork sandwiches from the pitmaster himself, Bob of Bob Trudnak BBQ.

Plus, the event will also be offering up treats from Insomnia Cookies and drinks from nicethingsBEER, Two Robbers Seltzer, and City Winery Philadelphia. Other activities popping up this year include an intricate Eagles-themed balloon display from Moments By Max, Memoriez Photobooth’s 360 for “the perfect tailgate selfie”, and DJ Martin will be back to spin tunes for the occasion.

Other event sponsors for the Tailgate this year include Party Host Helpers, Campus Copy Center, SQS | Square Settlements and First Choice Mortgage Advisors. Additionally, according to a release, Philly PR Girl will be hosting a large and extensive prize giveaway  as well with prizes ranging from show/game tickets, signed memorabilia, gift baskets, and more.
