Turner not upset about no new deal

Sixers guard Evan Turner isn’t worried about not getting a new deal. He’s already “financially stable.”

Sixers may let No. 2 pick walk away

Evan Turner hasn’t really lived up to the lofty expectations heaped upon him in Philadelphia.

Now entering his fourth season with the Sixers, Turner has career averages of 10.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. The numbers aren’t terrible. They just aren’t indicative of someone taken No. 2 overall in the NBA draft.

Which brings up the Sixers’ newest dilemma. Turner is in the final year of his rookie contract, meaning it’s time to cash in. Based on those stats, it doesn’t seem like the 6-foot-7 guard is in the team’s future plans. In fact, the two sides have yet to negotiate. Turner isn’t worried.

“I’m not upset about it,” Turner told CSNPhilly.com. “I know what type of player I’m going to be and I know who I am and I know what I’ve done.

“We switched GMs and we switched which direction we’re going, but I’m not going to sit here and be upset. I’m going to get money — whether I get it now or later, I’ve been blessed to be financially stable.”
