Two Pennsylvania residents were arrested after driving their car onto the Ocean City Boardwalk in New Jersey and crashing through a railing in an attempt to find a lost cell phone, the Press of Atlantic City reported today.
Christian Winzcuk, 21, of Philadelphia, and Hyeyeon Ju, 46, of Jenkintown, were reportedly walking on the beach at night when they lost a cell phone. Winzcuk allegedly drove their car onto the Boardwalk in the hopes that he could use its headlights to find the phone.
Instead, he lost control of the vehicle, crashed through a railing and flipped onto the beach, police told the paper. Both he and Ju were treated for minor injuries.
Winzcuk is charged with DUI, reckless driving, driving on the Boardwalk and hindering apprehension. Ju is charged with allowing an intoxicated person to drive and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
