Police have charged a homeless man with an extensive criminal history with committing one of two bank robberies in Bensalem on Tuesday afternoon.
The bank robberies occurred at the Fulton Bank branch on the 2100 block of Street Road and the TD Bank branch on the 2700 block of Street Road at roughly 1 p.m. and 2:10 p.m., respectively, Phillyburbs.com reports.
Frank D. Hicks, 35, is charged with committing the TD Bank robbery. He allegedly hopped the counter at the bank and stole about $4,000.
Hicks was released from prison 27 days ago, the paper reports. He was previously convicted of six bank robberies in Philadelphia, and he has a long history of drug offenses.
Hicks was lodged in Bucks County Prison on $750,000 bail after his arraignment.
A man who slipped a Fulton Bank teller a note indicating he had a gun made off with an undisclosed amount of cash about 70 minutes before Hicks allegedly robbed the TD Bank just up Street Road.
