Two men were killed in separate shootings Sunday night in Philadelphia.
Just after 8 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot multiple times in his torso in the 24th floor hallway of a building in the Society Hill Towers condominium complex, located on the 200 block of Locust Street, investigators said.
Officers took him to Jefferson University Hospital, where he died at around 8:40 p.m., according to authorities. A suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and law enforcement recovered a gun, police said.
Two men were struck when gunfire erupted inside a corner store at around 6:45 p.m. Sunday in Eastwick, investigators said.
A 33-year-old man was shot several times, sustaining wounds to his head and body, police said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The other victim, also a 33-year-old man, was shot in his leg and arm, according to authorities. He was hospitalized with serious injuries but is expected to survive, police said.
Officers found a gun at the scene, but no arrests have been made.
Authorities have not publicly identified either murder victim, and a PPD spokesperson did not provide further details about the shootings when contacted Monday.
