Two killed in Feltonville shooting

Two men were killed after gunfire erupted just before 6 p.m. Tuesday in Feltonville, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 4700 block of N. 3rd Street for a report of a person with a gun and found Joseph Humphrey, 20, and Kalil Stafford, 18, both of whom had gunshot wounds to their chests.

Police rushed the pair to Temple University Hospital, where they later died. Humphrey and Stafford lived just blocks away from the scene of the shooting, according to authorities.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the killing.

Several hours later, just after 10:15 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in the groin by two masked men during an attempted robbery on the 2700 block of N. Front Street in Kensington. He was taken to Temple Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police reported no arrests in connection with the incident.

Then, on Wednesday, in broad daylight, a 24-year-old man was standing on the 1300 block of Pratt Street in Frankford when he was shot in the right foot, authorities said. He returned to his home on the 5200 block of Oxford Avenue before calling police.

He’s listed in stable condition at Jefferson Frankford Hospital, and no arrests have been made, police said.

Two men were also injured in separate stabbings Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Officers found a 39-year-old victim with a stab wound to his left shoulder at 11:30 p.m. at 46th Street and Woodland Avenue. He’s in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, according to police.

At around 1:30 a.m., a 39-year-old man was stabbed in the chest on the 2100 block of E. Lippincott Street in Kensington. Medics transported him to Temple Hospital in stable condition.

Police have not apprehended anyone in either ease.

Earlier in the week, on Sunday night, officers responded to the 5200 block of Jefferson Street in Brewerytown and found a 58-year-old man who was unresponsive. He later died at Penn Presbyterian due blunt force trauma, police said.

Authorities identified the victim as Darryl Atwood, and homicide detectives are investigating his death.

To date, 124 people have been killed in Philadelphia in 2020, a 19 percent jump compared to the same time last year, according to police data.
