Two officers injured in crash

Two city police officers were injured after someone driving a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo reportedly ran a red light, struck their cruiser at 68th Street and Woodland Ave. and took off just after 1 a.m. yesterday. The police vehicle was sent into a fence and knocked down a traffic pole. The other car then struck another car before fleeing.

Officers Antoinette Bethel and David Barbour were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Bethel suffered a fractured leg and jaw and internal injuries; Barbour suffered a concussion.
