Police are investigating two shootings within a few blocks and hours of each other on Germantown Avenue in North Philadelphia, including one Wednesday night that killed a teen.
Police say Tracy Briscoe, 19, of the 2900 block of North 12th Street, was shot in his head about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday on the 3000 block of Germantown Avenue.
Briscoe was pronounced dead about an hour later at Temple University Hospital.
Police responded to the corner of Germantown Avenue and West Indiana Street about 12:19 a.m. Thursday on a report of gunfire. They found a 38-year-old man down from a gunshot wound to his stomach. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was last listed in critical condition.
Police are unsure of the motives behind the homicide and subsequent shooting, and they did not have any information on suspects to release as of about 9 a.m. Thursday.
