Two 20-year-old Temple University football players have been suspended by the team after being charged in an assault at Philadelphia’s popular Club 1800.
Defense lineman Haason Reddick, of Philly, and left tackle Dion Dawkins, of Rahway, NJ, beat up a 21-year-old fellow Temple student at a party at the club, at 1800 N. 5th St. early Sunday morning on Jan. 18, cops said Tuesday.
The victim suffered a concussion and a fractured right orbital bone, cops said, and was treated at W ills Eye Hospital and transferred to Jefferson Hospital.
From the complaint:
The victim “ observed his friend (a 21 year old male) getting beat up by several males from the Temple Football Team. The complainant states that he tried to pull his friend away when he was kicked in the right eye, and other people, including Dion Dawkins, were holding him back. The complainant and Dion began to fight when several other people began hitting him.”
Dawkins and Reddick are charged with: Criminal Conspiracy Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
