Police are investigating after a gruesome scene was discovered Sunday afternoon in a Northeast Philadelphia motel room.
Two women were found dead around 12:30 p.m.in room 225 at the Roosevelt Motor Inn on Roosevelt Boulevard. Police said they were unresponsive with white plastic bags over their heads and their hands bound behind their backs, 6ABC reported. Medics pronounced the women dead at the scene at 12:37 p.m., but a cause of death has not yet been determined. The bodies were transported to the medical examiner’s office.
No arrests have been made.
6ABCreported that several hotel guests said they weren’t surprised that the crime had happened there. The motel, located in the Rhawnhurst section of the Northeast, has been host to violence in the past.
In March 2014, police responded to the hotel after reports of gunshots, and found bullet holes in the wall.According to a statement by police, a group of young black men were running through the halls shooting at each other. Nobody was injured.
