Two women shot after argument in Laundromat

An argument that began in a laundromat spun into a double shooting Monday night in North Philadelphia.

The incident broke out just after 5 p.m. at the laundromat at Fox Street and Roberts Avenue in Nicetown, police said.

Four women approached two women, ages 24 and 27, inside the facility to address an old score.

During the altercation, one of the group members allegedly busted the windshield of the 27-year-old woman’s SUV.

The fight moved to the 2600 block of Roberts Avenue, where the 27-year-old woman confronted the group about her windshield.

Police said 33-year-old Lashanda Anderson, of Roberts Avenue, then shot both of the 27-year-old woman’s legs.

The 24-year-old then pulled up to the scene — with her two children, ages 3 and 5, both inside the vehicle — and her car was blocked by the other group members.

An unknown woman, standing next to Anderson, started firing at the 24-year-old’s vehicle.

The woman inside suffered a graze wound to the left side of her head, but was able to drive away and flag down a police officer. The officer caught Anderson, but the other shooter remains at large.

Both victims are in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

Anderson was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and related offenses.
