The Union got their first win of the season Saturday, at home against New York City FC thanks in large partto rookie goalkeeper John McCarthy.
The young netminder will be at it again, looking to again be the victor at Yankee Stadium Thursday, a 7:30 p.m. start on TCN.
“There will be no margin for error with loose passes due to the tightness of the field and how smart it is,” coach Jim Curtin said.
Yankee Stadium, of course, is a baseball stadium first and foremost and has a unique size and feel for a soccer game. But the Union hope that is not a factor. What they hope is a factor, is their knowledge of how to beat New York. “We are going to make sure we rest well,” Sebastien Le Toux said, the striker recovering from an injury scare this past weekend. “We play the same team, we already know them well, we know how they are going to play. … We are ready for the fight.”
