UPDATE 12:45 P.M.: Jack Horner, spokesperson for SugarHouse Casino, said the “incident has no connection to the casino.”

A man was abducted, shot and robbed after he left SugarHouse Casino with nearly $4,000 late Sunday.

Philadelphia police responded to the 7400 block of Summerdale Avenue, in the city’s Rhawnhurst section, about 11:30 p.m. after a call about someone screaming for help along the roadway, NBC10 reports. There, police found the 38-year-old victim, who had been shot in his back and leg at point-blank range and robbed of $3,800.

The victim underwent surgery at Aria Health-Torresdale early Monday. He was in very critical condition, according to the report.

It remains unclear when and where the victim was shot after he left the Delaware Avenue gaming house, but he apparently was abducted at 49th Street and Springfield Avenue, in Southwest Philadelphia, where police found his Cadillac with its driver’s side window shot out. He was forced into a van with Soft Touch Cleaning Service on its side in red, and duct-taped by his wrists and ankles.
