Police are investigating after a white Jeep plunged into the Schuylkill and was pulled from the river Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police responded to a call just before 2:45 a.m. of a person in the river at Kelly and Brewery Hill Drives. Within the following hours, the vehicle was removed via a search team.
It remains unknown if the vehicle was occupied at the time it went into the Schuylkill. The Philadelphia Marine Unit responded to the scene, and the investigation remains active and ongoing, according to police.
This comes after two other vehicles also entered the river last month. The first was a sedan found off Kelly Drive, near the Girard Avenue Bridge. The second was a Range Rover that entered near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.
