Video shows suspect in Dilworth Park shooting

Police released surveillance footage Wednesday after a man opened fire earlier this week in Dilworth Park, outside City Hall.

No one was injured in the shooting, which occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Monday, authorities said. The gunman fired two shots at a security guard following a physical altercation that occurred when the guard asked a group of people to leave the area, according to investigators.

Detectives describe the suspect as a Black man in his mid-20s who is approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build, mustache, beard and silver braces with black rubber bands. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a New Balance T-shirt.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the PPD’s Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093/3094; call or text 215-686-8477; or submit a tip online at www.phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip.
