A man is seen in surveillance video released by police today shooting a 20-year-old man in the hip in broad daylight.
The 20-year-old man and another male, aged 21, stood out front of the Bacalao Food Market, at 4287 Frankford Avenue in Frankford, just before noon Sunday when a man in a puffy blue-suede jacket and blue hat walked past them on Church Street, and then backtracked with his silver, long-barreled pistol drawn.
He pointed the gun in their direction and demanded the two young men empty their pockets.
As the 20-year-old man pulled out his cell phone and held them out to the gunman, the attacker shot the man in the right hip.
The gunman then stuffed the gun into his jacket and fled east on Church Street.
The young man was treated for minor injuries at Temple University Hospital.
He is described as a black male in his mid-30s with a stocky build standing about 5’11.”
