Police are looking for a man who threw scalding coffee on a donut shop employee in West Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.
The man, accompanied by a friend in a green hat, placed a food order at the Fresh Donuts store, 3914 Lancaster Avenue, shortly after 11 a.m., police said. As the employee prepared the food, an argument started over payment. The man said he had already given the woman money for the order, while she claimed he did not.
During the dispute, the suspect grabbed a cup of hot coffee from the employee’s hand and threw it on her, causing severe burns. He is now wanted for aggravated assault.
The suspect is described as a six-foot-one to six-foot-two-inch, 200-pound black man in his 40s with a mustache. He was wearing glasses, a tan suit and tie, tan shoes and a gold watch. He arrived in a tan or gold Cadillac.
