An Allegheny County man enlisted the entire town of Sewickley, Pa. to join in a flash mob wedding proposal to his girlfriend on Saturday.
Joey Lancianese, 25, had dinner plans with girlfriend Alex DeLoia, also 25, but instead surprised her with a flash mob of about 100 performers dancing to songs like Hall and Oates’ “You Make My Dreams Come True” and “Marry You” by Bruno Mars as 200 more people looked on according to a report from The Forest Hills-Regent Square Patch.
Lancianese told the outlet that he asked the town’s borough manager to
briefly close down the street for the celebration and made up a plethora
of excuses to DeLoia so he could secretly attend “underground dance
practice” and learn the choreography.
He joined the eight-minute performance before kneeling down and popping the question. “No idea is too big for us,” he said to DeLoia. “We can do anything together. You are my best friend in the whole world, being with you has been the happiest time of my whole life. I love you more than you can ever imagine, and I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you make me.”
She accepted.
