Police released video surveillance of a suspect in the shooting of an 18-year-old in Mantua on New Year’s Day.
The victim was shot several times in the buttocks just before 9 p.m. on Jan. 1 while walking near 34th Street and Haverford Avenue, police said. The unknown attacker fired several shots in the teenager’s direction. He was treated at the University of Pennsylvania and later released, according to police.
Both the shooting suspect and a second man, described at this time as a person of interest, were captured on surveillance video during the incident.
Both men are described as 20 years old, standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. The person of interest is thought to weigh between 230 and 240 pounds, while the shooter is thought to weigh between 160 and 170 pounds.
