Video released as police investigate Germantown carjacking

Detectives are looking for four gunmen — two of whom were armed with rifles — who committed a carjacking Saturday night at a gas station in Germantown.

The robbery occurred around 10 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Sunoco located at 5901 Wissahickon Ave., according to police.

Surveillance video released by authorities Wednesday shows the four men getting out of a white Ford Transit Van with guns pointed at a man who was filling up his red 2022 Chrysler 300. Two were equipped with rifles, and the other two had handguns.

One of the suspects jumped directly from the back of the van onto the top of the Chrysler. The gunmen chased the victim to the gas station’s convenience store before escaping with his keys and fleeing with both vehicles.

Investigators said the van has tinted windows and a paper license with the number 4118905. The tag’s state is not known.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183/3184; call or text 215-686-8477; or submit a tip at www.phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip.
